A poem about Trevor

Trevor’s on the spectrum, he has trouble making friends.
His actions disconnect him from his peers, so he depends
on an imaginary friendship and his love of silly phrasing.
He hates the academic day, but he is just amazing!

In the past the kids would bully him, they did not understand
why he said “my cat’s a Woof-kitty.” And then they would demand
that he NOT attend their parties and they called him awful names.
But Trevor was divergent and he couldn’t play their games.

CHORUS

He'd cry with the rejection and then get on his computer
where he’d do the unexpected and learn math without a tutor.
His kitty and his basset hound were totally ecstatic,
when he’d softly pet them as he learned procedures systematic.

The potential for this young man to succeed is awe-inspiring.
As soon as someone notices his talents he’ll be smiling!
So even though he’s had some sad and lonely times so far,
just wait until the music comes, he’ll be a superstar!

CHORUS

Chorus lyrics

When Skally was the way he'd speak,
the kids all said he was a freak.
Trevor's the Noteable GOAT!

But he is soon to win them over,
and no longer be a loner.
Trevor's the Noteable GOAT!
